Portraiture has always had a special place in my heart, it’s where I first began with developing my skills as an artist using pastel pencils. Over the years I’ve explored other art media and now have several favourites I use including acrylics, watercolours, colour pencils and graphite. Sometimes I paint people, mostly I paint animals – cats, dogs, birds. There is something so peaceful about painting delicate strokes of fur, hair, and blending, layering to a completed portrait piece.
